The Erasmus Experience
Visualising Erasmus’ ideas
through interactive murals
The Project
The Erasmus Experience is an interactive exhibition at Bibliotheek Rotterdam, exploring the life, ideas, and lasting influence of Desiderius Erasmus, one of Rotterdam’s most celebrated thinkers. Through interactive installations, visitors are invited to engage with Erasmus’ way of thinking and reflect on how his ideas remain relevant today.

CLIENT Bibliotheek Rotterdam
For the exhibition, we designed the visual identity and graphics for five interactive murals. Each mural creates an immersive visual environment around a different theme, guiding visitors through questions about freedom of expression, disagreement, critical thinking, humor, and their own perspective on the world.
The exhibition was officially opened by King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands and former Mayor of Rotterdam Ahmed Aboutaleb. Designed for both Dutch and international audiences, the Erasmus Experience combines storytelling, interactive technology, and visual design to bring Erasmus’ humanist ideas to a contemporary audience.
